USING OF THE 8 th HARMONIC - 45 MIDPOINT SORTS IN SYNASTRY

Cosmobiology is an area of astrology dealing with correlation between Universe and organic life on our planet, predominantly studding planetary influences on man, his character, emotional status and reactions. Its unique techniques are different from the classical methods in following ways:

This  technique does not use astrological houses, but bases its interpretations and forecasts upon the combination of planetary influences, having always in mind exact aspects with permitted orbs of 1 degree. The 8th harmonic – 45 midpoint sorts are useful tool for natal analysis, because it  shows you all of the links that are present between the planets and midpoints in dynamic aspect series: (conjunction, semisquare, square, sesquiquadrate and opposition). It is well known that dynamic aspects bring events, while the  harmonic ones (such as trines and sextiles ) bring feelings and define emotional state.To quote Reinhold Ebertin who said that sextiles and trines signified what life had to offer, while conjunctions, squares and oppositions signified what life had demanded. A list of chart midpoints is very useful for showing any aspects that the transiting, progressed or directed planet, or even another person's natal planets might be making to particular chart. Each new chart obtained in this way we is comparable with the natal chart, finding via 45 midpoint sort system important midpoints activated in person's natal chart. This technique is of great importance in synastric charts, which together with use of classical method of comparison can produce description of the future events in a person's life.

Now, I will tell you the story of two people respecting principles of ethic codex (I got approval for publishing their life story followed by astrological analysis), and at the same time, I will display application of the 45 midpoint sorts in synastry.

The very beginning of this story is particularly interesting. Given the fact that start of the love affair began during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia between two noble souls which belonged to opposite sides in war. To emphasize the irony, relation between Denis and Vera started just after the sound of the first sirens  announcing air raids over Yugoslavia in March 24, 1999. This love story raised above the pointless hate. While the airplanes waged war on the sky, down on the earth, in Yugoslavia was taking place battle for love.

Vera was born on December 7, 1958 in 11:15  A.M. in Belgrade, Serbia.

Denis was born on September 25, 1957 in 3:00 PM in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA.

The Inner wheel represents Denis' radix; the middle whell Vera's. The outer wheel is cast for April 1, 199, Belgrade, Serbia.

They met by working together in one world humanitarian organization. Begging of their relationship in this moment can be explained  with influence of Scorpio on Moon in Denis chart (ruler of the seventh) and Venus (ruler of the Sun and fifth house) and Vera's Pluto in the seventh house in her chart. Pluto represents fatality, destiny of the masses, influence of the major force and somewhat dark or dangerous circumstances. This planetary situation probably set up timing for the dawn of their love.

Further  development brought dramatic turnarounds in lives of these people. In the madness of war and paranoid fears, every foreigner was treated as a spy, and Denis was especially under suspicion, due to his refusal  to withdraw from his post and leave Yugoslavia. Which were his motives for such action? His chart clearly demonstrates idealism, sensitivity, philanthropy and  inclination towards deep emotional bonding (Moon in Scorpio conjunct Neptune, Sun conjunct Jupiter). When I asked why he did not leave, he replied that he would never be able to feel good in life if he would have left the country and run from the love he had found there.  He also disregarded my warnings that he could face serious troubles. On the other hand, natal conjunction Neptune\MC sometimes gives lack of  feeling for direction in life. In that period, Mercury was retrograde, the time was such that every single decision had to be questioned, because wrong estimations were likely to happen. Mars was also retrograde (co-ruler of MC), so it brought him more problems than it would otherwise, when it had transitions over group of planets in Scorpio in the ninth/tenth house. In the periods of retrograde Mars one should not be excessively courageous, because in such periods plans usually go wrong  up to the complete failure. Such directions of the planet Mars bring disputes, accidents, problems with uniformed officials, and persistence can only halt person's sense for practical and the purpose.

Being as it is, transitory planets do not mark person's destiny, but they activate in certain period of time aspect shown in the natal chart. In April 1999. Denis was fired from his organization and spent 48 hours in the police questioning, for one single reason: he was an American citizen. Apart from being fired, he was also declared a persona non grata in Yugoslavia, separated from his love even though he was prepared to sacrifice everything for her. In description of mentioned events, I will show main astrological aspects as a confirmation.

Pluto is midpoint between his natal Sun and the Moon, which literally means: Soul torn by inner conflict, volatile circumstances and separation in life, or separation from others. Pluto is also midpoint Mars\Neptune, which can bring suffering from  brutally inflicted damage from other people.

In April, Venus shifted from Taurus into sign of Gemini (in fifth house) squaring with Pluto, having activated at the same time mentioned Pluto midpoint. Definition of events shown due to natal Pluto midpoint give also Venus as ruler of IC, Pluto ruler of MC Venus archetype of love and included fifth natal house. At the same time, transitional Jupiter squared natal Jupiter by the end of March and beginning of April, activating at the same time midpoint of his natal Jupiter:

Jupiter=Saturn\Lunar Node; Jupiter=Saturn\Uranus are aspect which signify having inner joy through sacrificing for others, sudden turn of destiny, change of the position in life and troubles. From the second part of April and during May 1999, Venus had maximal declination, situation in which it has most significant influence through natal position and aspects in individual charts. In Denis' natal chart Venus squares Uranus, while in Vera's it is conjunct Saturn. This was one more indicator of separation and restrain in their love in that period.

Classical comparison of those two horoscopes shows correlation of these two people, firstly in mutual equilibrium of the qualities. She has only one planet in cardinal quality (Moon), but he has 3 (Sun, Mars, Jupiter + Ascendant), which means that he will take the initiative in their relationship. Both Moons are in conjunction (in different sign), Mars opposite Venus, aspect of great importance in synastry. Wide conjunction of Denis' Venus and Vera's Jupiter activates her T- square (Jupiter square Uranus, opposition Mars) which makes him feel very much attracted to her, while for Vera such dedicated Venus can bring more  harmony in her unconventional attitudes and refusal of accepting of the rules. Nevertheless, Uranus brought sudden interruption of their relationship, even though Jupiter later, provoked happy turn out (Jupiter /Uranus).

Conjunction of both Moons appears in the horoscope of the married couples, but in this particular case, Vera’s Moon is at the last degree of Libra, while Denis' is at the beginning of Scorpio. Moon in Libra  provokes need for partner, but also brings indecisiveness. Denis with the Moon in Scorpio is possessive, deeply emotional and demands devoted mate. Energy that this Moon receives is not in compliance with her attitude towards marriage and freedom given by Venus in Sagittarius. But, Moon sextile Pluto in Vera's chart indicates her  potential to have intense and deep emotional relationships, when she finds herself in the situation to have them. Her Mars in Taurus gives accented sexuality, which responds to his Venus in Scorpio. Mutual reception of these two planets demonstrates that this relationship is full with passion. Also, Venus (her Mars in Taurus, his in Libra) rules both Mars. Combination of Mars and Venus as male and female principle dominates in these charts. Conjunction Venus/Jupiter also can indicate marriage, but square Uranus  implies non-conventional relationship or interruptions of the relation, or separations. Both Suns are mutually non-aspect, but have alike energies, because his Sun is in Libra, and hers is conjunct Venus. Her Sun is in Sagittarius, and his Sun is conjunct Jupiter.

Let us now come back to the influence of the Pluto as a ruler of the destiny, bonds and interference of the major force (war in this case). Ordinarily, this story could end by his departure and brake up of their relationship. But it didn't, and he had found love and passion in a far away country which were destined to be his. (Venus in Scorpio- ruler of IC determination to leave his roots for love, Moon in Scorpio ruler of Descendant implies to the spirit of warrior influenced by emotions). Is it not obvious that she was destine to meet her life partner under such circumstances and to be separated  and reunited with him (Pluto in the seventh)?

After  being persecuted in Yugoslavia, situation seemed hopeless for him. His only hope was my astrological forecast that their relationship would end in marriage.

Further activities were related to interventions for his come back through embassies and humanitarian organization in which she retained her job. Denis' Lunar Node is midpoint  between Vera's natal Saturn and Denis' Uranus which  shows his troubles with reintegration into community, separation and joint resistance to common adversary (this midpoint was activated by transitional retrograde Mars conjunct Lunar Node). His Saturn is midpoint between her Sun, Moon and Pluto mean physical obstacle, hardships, restrain, and separation, due to major force, but also person's  ability to cope with  all impairments in life. Transitional Pluto  was conjunct his natal Saturn, so this midpoint was activated.

In the year 1998\1999 his directed and secondary progressed Sun was conjunct Venus (aspect of marriage) directed Venus made semisquare MC (marriage again) and his directed Moon was conjunct her MC (change of status). Her directed Venus squared his natal Moon and Neptune (falling in love with elements of idealization) progressed Venus sextile MC (opportunity for marriage) and secondary progressed Sun 45 degree MC in her chart (appearance of the important man in her life). Basic connection of those two people with planetary influences and progressive and directed planets which initiate important events related to marriage and status, caused that their wedding had taken place in Bosnia in May, 2000, after which he was granted permission to reside in Yugoslavia and job license. Very indicative in her natal chart is marriage for stranger and possibility of getting married abroad. Venus, planet of marriage is in Sagittarius, Sun ruler of Descendant in Sagittarius. Their difficulties passed away after the  influences of transitional planets had ceased, and when planetary picture was totally different.

Two of them proved that love was above everything war, hate and politics. Nowadays, Denis and Vera live together in love and harmony, and I am still their astrologer.

All above explained are just segments of deep analysis of the relationship between two persons and events caused by planetary influences. I wished, in this brief demonstration, to show precision of the system 45 midpoint sorts in description of events, as well as  wide range of application of this technique. Each horoscope can be compared with the natal one, having in mind that interplanetary influences describe more correlations, events and precise timing of their activation.
