Why I use Cosmobiology

It works.... Seriously, I have found Cosmobiology to be the most effective Western system of astrology to identify real life potential, time events and analyze health. I do not make this claim lightly. It is based on my own years of experience and the work of many dedicated cosmobiologists and astrologers. I’d like to take a moment of your time to explain how I came to practice Cosmobiology.

The 90 degree dial used in Cosmobiology simplifies chart interpretation by dividing the birth chart into three equal areas of thirty degrees, representing Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable signs. Planets in hard aspects appear tightly grouped together or in near exact opposition.

Years back I had a thriving practice as a tarot reader. A prominent Serbian astrologer, Bozana Antic (whose article on Cosmobiology and Synastry is featured on this site) contacted me to ask if I would consult with her regarding a book she was writing about the Thoth Tarot. We hit it off quite famously, although I did not understand all of the astrological references in her work. She kindly offered to teach me astrology because she said that according to her analysis of my natal chart that I was a "born astrologer." She proceeded to teach me a method of astrology that incorporated the Thoth Tarot and the Qabala’s Tree of Life. Since I was already familiar with Thoth and Qabala, grasping astrology in their terminology was quite easy for me. After studying for about two years, I began to offer natal chart analysis to my Tarot clients. A dear friend asked me to cast her chart. I shared my analysis with Bozana to get her feedback on my work. She said the analysis was solid, but I overlooked that my friend’s mother was going to die on or about March first. I was taken aback by her bluntness, and did not really understand how she reached that conclusion. I did not say anything to my friend. When my friend’s mother passed away on February 27^th, I finally asked Bozana, "How’d you do it?" She replied nonchalantly, "I used Cosmobiology. You know if you want to time or diagnose anything accurately you use [Reinhold] Ebertin’s techniques." What!!! Here I’d been dutifully studying how to analyze the subtleties of spiritual evolution through astrology without grasping that there is a highly robust and precise method of astrological science that speaks to real world situations. Key analytical tools of Cosmobiology include the use of planetary midpoints, solar arc directions, only hard aspects with very tight orbs, and no house system... From that point on I started reading everything I could by Ebertin, beginning with his study of Astrological medicine, Astrological Healing. Initially, that was a little above my head, and it was necessary to read his Applied Cosmobiology and then re-read his medical text. I began to correspond with cosmobiologists, including Eleanora Kimmel, who has elegantly codified and advanced Ebertin’s work in the English Speaking world, and was rewarded by many thoughtful insights into my own studies.

However, I was very disappointed to realize how many astrologers incorporated substantial amounts of Ebertin and Kimmel’s work into their own without accrediting them and even dismissing Cosmobiology as being too rigid. This constitutes a large part of my motivation for starting this website. The other major reasons are:

• There is a lack of English language websites devoted to Cosmobiology

• There is a need for continued research and dialogue about Cosmobiology

• I wish to offer my services as a Cosmobiologist to the general public

I hope that eventually this site can address these needs. I also want to invite other astrologers who work with Cosmobiology to contribute. Even though I advertise my own services as a Cosmobiologist, I am happy to include your contact information with any work of yours that I use. (I’m lousy at this "business and competition thing," and, yes, I can tick off a half dozen midpoint combinations that explain this flaw.) I am not fully opposed to considering submissions from Uranian astrologers. I fully acknowledge and respect the contribution that Uranian astrology has made to Cosmobiology, but there are many Internet resources available on Uranian astrology both in English and German. I want to keep the emphasis on Cosmobiology.
