The purpose of the following essay is to analyze the recent death of television John Ritter, employing the methodology of cosmobiology. All midpoint definitions used are from The Combination of Stellar Influences by Reinhold Ebertin, unless otherwise indicated. To do so I examine his natal chart, September 17, 1948, 7:59 A.M. PST, Burbank, CA, his solar arc directed chart, progressed chart and the transit chart for the estimated time of his death, 10 p.m. PST, September 11, 2003, Burbank, CA. I combined data from these chart, including midpoints, in a 45 degree diagram. The results attest to the accuracy of cosmobiogical research, and to the fact that Mr. Ritter’s might have been avoided had he consulted a cosmobiogist.

Ritter’s nativity fits the cosmobiological profile of someone who suffers a heart attack. The cosmobiological profile focuses on four planets and their relationships. These are the Sun, Mars, Saturn and Uranus. In Ritter’s Radix, SU semi-squares MA and squares UR. SA is peregrine. However it lies on the 29^th degree of Leo, which corresponds to the degree of the coronary septum according to F. Brandau’s astro-biological clock. Certainly this profile meets the criteria of three of four planetary factors being involved.

Let’s further examine the cosmobiolgical structures of these planets in his radix.

The sun’s midpoint tree points to the nomadic heart and grand ego one might associate with a thespian.

SU=ME/SA. The biological correspondence is blockages of the nervous system. I am not sure how that may relate to a heart attack. It also points to repeated changes in residence and travel, not uncommon for an actor.

SU=ME/VE: An appreciation of beauty and self glorification.

SU=JU/UR: Agility, far-sightedness, mobility.

It is also sesquare ME and square Jupiter which point to a far-ranging mind. Of course, it is the sun’s dynamic with MA and UR that point to susceptibility to heart trouble.

Mars also squares VE, which positively indicates a healthy sensuality, yet can also indicate a high strung nervous system which certainly can contribute to a heart condition. Its lone midpoint is ME/SA which indicates a tendency to quarrel, as well as previously stated a tendency to blockages in the nervous system.

Saturn is largely unaspected, except for a semi-square to Mc, which can indicate a feeling of being ill, a restriction. It could have acted as a retarding factor in Ritter's professional and emotional growth. However, SA is not a minor player in Ritter’s life. As indicated, its placement corresponding to the coronary septum, the heart’s wall, does seem to signify the heart as a potential weak spot. Also it has a dynamic midpoint structure. It largely points to a surprisingly depressed and melancholy disposition. Can mood be divorced from one’s overall physical state. Particularly, when the heart hurts on an emotional level, can physical disturbances be far behind?

SA=VE/JU: Again one encounters emotional frailty in Ritter, this time through problems in his love life. Also, this like some of the other midpoints, have correspondences to glandular function. One wonders is an underlying glandular condition may have contributed to depression, anxiety, which could have weighed on the heart. The heart is the power center of the body, and perhaps other bodily disturbances may contribute to its vulnerability.

SA=MA/JU: Here is a clear biological correspondence to the heart muscles. Also, emotional difficulties, particularly in clarifying one’s goals, perhaps another stressor for Ritter.

SA=JU/DR: Here again, the life force itself may be challenged. Again, also, emotional vulnerability, a desire to be alone.

SA=ME/As: More sadness and stress, inhibition to talk about important issues with those close.

SA=ME/Mc: Pessimism and melancholy.

SA=ME/NE: Dark thoughts, morbidity.

Uranus semi squares NE. The biological correspondence points to "The paralysis of rhythmic process. Heart failure..." Also, this may lead to increased nervous problems as well. Its midpoint structure includes:

UR=JU/As. It is important that we keep in mind that Ritter was likable and had good fortune in his acting career. This underscores that fact.

UR=JU/Mc: Again, let’s keep some perspective, he had great success, and certainly balanced his "dark side" with optimism and the ability to enthusiastically handle new projects.

UR-JU/NE: Again, we’re reminded of his outward success. Here, that is brought down to earth a bit. There is also indication of an underlying misdiagnosis which could have eventually played a role in his early death, as we look at other factors which activate UR in the directions, progressions and transits.

Other natal midpoints to examine as part of the SU, MA, SA, UR complex include.

MO=UR/SA. "Strong emotion tensions, desire for liberation. Biological indication: heart block.

ME=MA/UR: "The rhythm of activity, the activity and work of the heart." This is compounded by "inclination to draw heavily on one’s nervous energy reserves...An excessive irritation of one’s nerves."

JU=SA/NE: "The chronic Unhampered progress of malady." "The tendency to be depressed or upset easily..."

ME=SU/PL: "A nerve crisis."

We will examine additional radical midpoints and planetary placements as we look at how his life unfolds at the critical time of his mortality.

First, we will look at progressed planets and their relationships to radical, directed and transiting ones.

Progressed UR and PL = natal UR= (t) NE/A, MO/ME. As we well know, UR=UR is associated with dramatic upheaval and crises. PL=UR: "Sudden separation death." UR=NE/A "Sudden trouble through others, also suffer illness through others." PL=NE/As "The suffering of harm or damage through deceit, libel or malice coming from other people." PL=MO/ME: "Tragic realizations."

Progressed MO= natal Chiron=UR/MC, UR/NE=transiting MO=MA/NE. UR/MC: "breathing." UR/NE: Heart failure. MO=MO: Changes in mood. Transiting and progressed moon MO=UR/NE: "fit of Weakness." MO=UR/MC: "Irritability..." Chiron is to me a healer, a transformer. Death of course is a transformation. Combined with the midpoints being activated by the moons double activation, both progressed and transiting, I believe this in itself could indicate heart failure. But there are so many more keys here.

Progressed NE=natal SA=JU/VE,MA,DR = transiting NE/PL,Mc/As,DR. Neptune=Saturn: "Suffering, sacrifice..tendency to illness..separation, sorrow." NE=VE/JU: "hopelessness." NE=MA/Ju: Failures. (Remember: MA/JU=heart muscle.) NE=JU/DR: "disappointment" NE/PL: "The treacherously painless stage of disease." SA=NE/PL: "Grievous emotional suffering." SA=As/Mc: "Separation, mourning or bereavement." SA=DR/MC: cutting one’s self off from others. NE=DR/Mc: "Separation through the process of...’coming down to earth.’" NE=As/MC: the experiencing of disappointments."

Progressed SA= Solar Arc As,Mc,NE = transiting PL/As,DR, MO/MC. SA=As: "bereavement, estrangement...illness." PL/AS: "Physical change or transformation." SA=PL/AS "suffering from forcible expression." SA=PL/DR: "The violent termination of relationships." The solar arc As,Mc and NE are mutually aspected, underscoring Ritter’s very ego consciousness and his own vulnerability.

Progressed ME=natal ME/PL=Solar Arc UR/PL=transiting PL. ME/PL: "The metabolism of the nervous system." Also, "Hasty thinking...the spirit of opposition." UR/PL: "The Process of transformation...Changes in the Rhythm of biological processes." Again the very essence of being is challenged by a combination of progressed, transiting and directed elements.

Progressed JU= natal MO/NE=Solar Arc SU/MO=transiting SA/PL. Again we have a convoluted complex between the moon and Neptune. It strikes this researcher that these two planets are keys to Ritter’s vulnerability. They are the emotional, watery balance to the fiery charge of his heart’s life force. There seems to be a struggle as well as balance between water and fire in him, in which fire ultimately predominates. But the emotions symbolized by water bubble over in a manner that ultimately suffocates the flame. Anyhow, Jupiter=MO/NE usually points toward artistic success. It is interesting to note that Ritter was practicing his art, working on the set of a television series when the fatal heart attack struck. Even though, he passed hours later in a hospital, it could be said he died with his boots on. SA/PL: "Hard labor, cruelty." JU=SA/PL: "difficulties caused through illness."

The Solar Arc and transit activity seem even more dramatic than the progressed activity. Indeed all of the progressed placement are components of transiting and directed contacts.

Solar arc VE and MA=natal SA/DR, SU/NE and transiting MA/Mc, VE/SA. SA/DR: "Separation from the astral body." MA=SA/DR: "Enforced Separation, bereavement within family." SU/NE: "Sensitivity, weakness, illness." MA=SE/NE: "A weak will to live." VE=SU/NE: "Chastity." MA/MC: Ego-conscious action....[when negatively manifested,] a lack of purpose or direction." VE=MA/MC:"A person giving way to sexual impulse." VE/SA: "Separation in Love." MA=VE/SA: "Separation." In these complexes of Venus and Mars, the emphasis is on desire and affairs of the heart resulting in separation. Certainly, there can be no deeper heartbreak in any type of romantic union than the death of one partner. Ritter was by most accounts happily married and a devoted father at the time of his death.

Solar arc Sun –natal MA/SA, VE/SA= Progressed Sun. MA/SA: the midpoint of death....Its natal placement is activated by both directed and progressed sun.

Solar Arc PL=Solar arc JU/As, NE = natal AS=MO/DR, ME/UR. PL=AS: "mishap, injury separation." PL=JU/As: "gaining recognition." That is probably not the way he would have liked to get it, but he did make the front page so to speak. PL=JU/NE: "A great loss." PL=ME/UR: "overstimulated nerves." PL=MO/DR: Separation through a higher power or providence." Note that these all are within one degree of aspect of transiting Saturn! SA=PL; "Loss through force majeur." SA=AS: "Bereavement, estrangement, Illness."

Solar SA=natal NE/DR=transiting SU/SA. SA=NE/DR: "Disadvantages or painful and grievous losses through associations with others..." Remember that he was working at a group activity – acting – at the time of the heart attack. SU/SA: "Inhibition, heredity affliction, karma, separation."

Solar Arc ME=Solar Arc SU/PL and natal ME/MA,VE. ME-SU/PL: "A nerve crisis." ME/VE="Appreciation of Beauty." ME/MA:"Powers of thought, the realization of thoughts and plans."

Solar arc moon = natal JU/UR. The biological correspondence JU/UR is the "organic rhythm (of life.)" However, MO=JU/UR refers to good fortune, and feelings of happiness. Ironically, these type of interpretations do sometimes show up at the moment of death. It reminds this researcher that in Tarot the Sun Arcana, which is almost always thought of as the best possible card, may mean sudden death. Perhaps, in Ritter’s case this might reflect an accomplished life.

Solar Arc JU=Solar Arc SA/NE=natal PL=JU/As, Mc, NE=Transiting SU/SA. JU=PL may bring conflicts and sorrow. PL=SA/NE: "Depression...Serious Illness." JU=SU/SA: "A fortunate separation from somebody else." PL=SU/SA: "Development of Inhibitions due to illness."

Transiting SA=natal NE/As: "The tendency to become weak in bad company...also suffering, illness through others..."

Transiting UR=natal MA/JU. Among the biological correspondences of MA/JU is the heart muscle. UR=MA/JU: "Independence, the urge for freedom..."

Transiting MA is little more than a minute separate from Transiting UR. Transiting MA= natal VE/JU. Ironically, this often inspires "Procreation, birth."

Transiting JU= natal UR/DR, JU/PL. JU=UR/DR is generally favorable and deals with shared communal experiences. Although, UR/DR may correspond biologically to nightmares and the disturbance of the astral body. JU/PL deals with regeneration, but also ironically can signify the ""loss of everything."

Transiting ME=natal ME=UR/VE,MA,DR and SU/NE=Solar Arc ME/UR. ME=UR/VE deals with "the sudden emergence of love thoughts," perhaps this could relate to the idea of Ritter’s life flashing before his eyes near his passing. UR/MA: "The activity and Work of the Heart." ME=MA/UR can bring "the excessive irritation of the nerves." ME=UR/DR: "A quick grasp, comprehension of things." ME=SU/NE: "Mental disturbances, nerve weakness, deceptions or illusions." ME/UR biologically relates to "The statics of Man, depth sensibility, the spinal cord as defined by Burdach and Goll." Disturbances of equilibrium..." Also "Too many irons in the fire’, also the inclination to scatter one’s energies..."

Transiting sun = Solar are MA/As, JU/SA. MA/AS: "Proness or liability to accidents. A surgical operations." Ritter was operated on either during or shortly before he died. SU-MA/As can indicate a mishap. SU=JU/SA: "Inconstancy, moodiness...happy solitude."

Transiting VE=natal SU, VE, MA=SA/ME,VE/MA,UR/JU =Solar arc SA/UR. Venus transits are generally thought of as beneficent. However VE+SU can indicate "ill health due to over eating and drinking." That can be a factor in a heart attack. VE=SA/ME: "A separation in love." Again UR/JU refers to life’s rhythm. Again, in analyzing Ritter’s passing we see a motif of a Romantic death, echoing Elizabethan metaphors with their word play likening death to sexual union.

Lastly we have transiting MA/SA=Solar Arc SU/SA. One more factor in the crisis that struck Ritter on September 11, 2003.

The isa quick overview of cosmobioligcal factors that contributed to John Ritter’s death. One can only speculate that if he had foreknowledge of these factors, Ritter could have sought medical attention for his cornonary condition. The challenge laid down by analyzing such cases of sudden mortality is to be able to recognize similar patterns for client. Therefore, the cosmobiologist should learn from cases like this in order to recommend medical cosnultation when appropriate.

Cancer Dagnosis, 10/26/2003 – New York

The Cosmobiology of disease and it diagnosis is a daunting challenge to the cosmobiologists. It demands sharp judgment and reasoning. It also raises a host of ethical issue in how one communicates the horoscope to the native.

For the purposes of learning, I have sought to analyze the recent prostate cancer diagnosis of actor Robert Deniro. I cast a number of charts to aid in my analysis, including solar arc and transit charts for October 26 (*time of diagnosis) and December 2003 and a 9^th harmonic chart for Deniro’s date of birth, August 17, 1943, 3;00 a.m. (War Time), Brooklyn, New York. Midpoint definitions are largely derived from Ebertin's The Combination of Stellar Influences. However, much of this anlaysis also draws on Eleanora Kimmel's seminal work, Cosmobiology for the 21st Century, especially her excellent chapter entitled "Cosmobiology and Your Health." Also, Ebertin's Astrological Healing is used in this analysis.

Most research draws the conclusion that the Prostate is governed by Scorpio and Pluto. According to Noel Tyl’s research in Astrological Timing of Critical Illness susceptibility to cancer may be indicated by the planet Jupiter, which indicates expansion and hence may be correlated to the radical multiplication of cells. In Deniro’s radix, there is one traditional cosmobiological signature for cancer, which is Neptune = SU/PL. Also, the Ascendant =PL/SA and PL/MC. Although not part of traditional Cosmobiology, it is interesting to note that SA=JU/PL. If we accept that Jupiter can play a role in rampant cell generation, then perhaps, this midpoint could be taken as a very specific indication of a susceptibility to prostate cancer. Also, Jupiter and Pluto are conjunct (in Leo, which is also Deniro’s sun-sign). Again, this suggests a Sun –Pluto synergy in which Jupiter may cause cell reproduction gone amok. There are no major placements in Scorpio.

There is a strong ninth harmonic in Deniro’s radix, suggested by a number of novile aspects. When his radix is cast in the ninth harmonic : NE= SU/PL, Pluto = SA/NE, MC=SU/PL, and Asc=PL/SU. The Sun, Moon and Ascendant, fall in Scorpio, along with his Part of Fortune. Furthermore the Sun in Scorpio is in opposition to Saturn in the ninth harmonic. These cursory observations indicate that perhaps a 9^th harmonic analysis could prove fruitful in counseling Deniro about the course of his treatment. However, there are more than ample planetary and midpoint connections through transit and solar arc to suggest peril to his health and wellbeing.

We will first examine challenges to Deniro’s Radix. To do so, a 45 degree linear diagram is used. Planets are cited in the order they appeared on the diagram, moving from 1 degree for Cardinal sign placement and 16 degree fixed sign placement to 15 degree fixed sign and 30 degree mutable sign positions.

Neptune is challenged first by its radical midpoint structure. NE = SU/PL indicating an undermining of health and a potential for martyrdom. The medical notation for SU/PL deal with the "regeneration of cells," which is a factor in cancer.

Neptune challenged by Solar arc midpoint SA/UR, "difficult, life saving battle. SA/UR has the medical indication of surgery to remove something. It is also associated with violence. Certainly, the diagnosis of a life threatening disease is a type of emotional violence. Another significant solar arc midpoint contact is UR/MD, suppressed anger. But a stronger Solar arc factor here is MO/VE, which points to "weakened or abnormal gland activity." The prostate is a gland.

Transiting midpoints to Neptune also cause alarm. Transiting SA/PL can shatter the nerves and create danger for the native. It also carries with it the connotation of poisoning and bad water. Interestingly, the notion of water or fluid imbalance is also consistent for Deniro at this time. Water is life sustaining liquid. The prostate influences the bodies evacuation of bad water "urine" as well as life germinating semen. Transiting SA/CH also touches Neptune ins carries with it the specter of devastating illness. The transiting MO/UR is prostate specific in it biological correspondence and saps the native’s emotional resources. The MO/PL midpoint also brings depression. And SU/UR may harbinger bodily decay and even death. It also suggests unexpected events with water.

The natal SA/NE midpoint also receives challenges. As you know, this midpoint is associated with chronic maladies and organic decomposition. Challenges to it are often present in critical illness. For Deniro this is no exception. There I contact for Solar arc Pluto with radical SA/NE: heavy emotion depression and serious disease. Also transiting Venus touches radical SA/NE, bringing with it inhibited gland activity and feebleness. Transiting DR a period of retention in the hospital and an association with sick people. It also suggests inherited disease. On October 26, 5:33 a.m., the transiting moon was one degree away from radical SA/NE, bringing with it depression. (There is also a connotation of women’s diseases. Prostate cancer is a direct challenge to a man’s sense of masculinity.) Transiting PL/AS (physical change, transformation, commencement of disease) and VE/DR (autonomic supply of glandular organs) also contact radical SA/NE.

Another radical midpoint to consider is UR/AS with touched by SA Pluto brings up the desire to succeed under difficult circumstances.

Radical sun is challenged by solar arc Saturn, bringing with it the threats of inhibition, hereditary affliction, karma and separation. Also with Saturn comes it midpoint correspondences of ME/NE which suggested a period of physical delicacy and vulnerability. In relationship to Saturn, which in turn is brought to light so to speak by Deniro’s natal sun are susceptibility to pessimism and hopelessness, a tendency to feel paralyzed. Also, JU/PL which again brings forth contradictions. In relationship to the radical sun, it brings forth the use of extraordinary powers, but through the filter of Saturn the inability to progress. Again, the intransigent aspect of Saturn is partly brought to bear on the sun, but the conjunct midpoint I feel does provide a call to arms and summons combative energy on the part of the challenged native (Deniro.) Transiting midpoints act both on radical sun and Solar arc Saturn to create some troublesome dynamics. In a sense I feel that the more traditionally misfortunate aspects of the Saturn contacts are brought into coruscating focus by the natal sun. The sun provides some possibility of relief that is enshadowed by Saturn. If I were counseling Deniro, I would try to think of ways to ground the more saturnine indications here in order to allow for relief and illumination. Transiting MA/NE brings to issue the predictable course of illness. The Solar Arc sun suggests unfortunate consequences, lasting weakness and illness. But the Solar Arc body here is also something moving through time, albeit slowly. So perhaps there may be some eventual, relief from this transitory contact. Transiting SU/JU deals with the tissues of organs and the regenerative function of blood. Again, there is some type of liquid connection here. In touching Solar Arc Saturn, there is a loss of employment and good fortune brought about.

Some of the midpoint correspondences of the natal sun seem important here as well. SU in UR/PL, the urge for freedom which is challenged herein by Solar arch SA, hatred and separation through force majeur. SU=NE/AS, weakness and degradation accentuated by Solar Arc SA suffering (illness) through others? (Perhaps Deniro finds his pride challenged by others seeing him as ill and weakened.)SU = JU/UR the rhythm of life and good fortune now challenged by Solar Arc SA, sudden loss.

Natal Mars, which is square the Sun, also receive significant Solar arc and Transiting midpoint challenges. MA = (S.A.) SA/NE, weak procreative powers and inactivity through illness. (S.A) NE/MC seems to challenge the native’s mental state with a misdirected relationship to metaphysics (perhaps he questions his faith in relationship to the health challenge0 and desire to harm others (again an anger response to illness.) The transiting Sun/PL may bring a tendency on the native’s part to work himself to physical breakdown. Perhaps, Deniro was not paying attention to his health and thus overdid it. The transiting MO/UR again suggest problems with water economy and blood pressure, as well as the possibility of rash action, violence and injury. Transiting ME/PL, again a desire to hurt others, and the suggestion of blackmail. It is interesting to see how many cosmic factor suggesting extreme anger and turbulent waters seem to be integral to Deniro’s state of affair at this time in his life. One of the few promising transits here is transiting JU/PL = radical MA, which suggests the ability to inspire others and the regeneration of organs. Perhaps Deniro will inspire others to check on their prostate health through his public example. Although, this is one of the few indicators of a possibility for his recovery.

A natal factor that seems to be activated herein is UR/DR=MA which suggests problems with self control, a tendency to resolve situations with violence. It appears that the tendency to strike out may be part of this natal complex in how Deniro responds to an oppressive situation.

His natal Ascendant is challenged by Solar Arc SU/PL, a crisis in self preservation.

Both the water imbalance and desire to strike out at others can be linked to the activation of the following natal midpoints by transiting mars: JU/NE and DR/MC.

Natal Uranus receive significant challenges from transiting SU/MC, a change of objectives and inner conflicts and SU/SA, crisis, mourning, seclusion. Interestingly, natal SU/SA also = UR, so this crisis mourning effect is probably doubly exaggerated by the transit. Another natal midpoint receiving these transit challenges I s UR=VE/MA, "autonomic disturbance in bowels and kidneys," irresistible force and an operation to the abdominal area.

The death axis of Mars-Saturn is activated on all levels in Deniro’s radix, Directions and Transits. First Natal midpoint MA/SA = Solar arc Mars. Radical Saturn = Solar Arc MA/SA and transiting MA/SA. The ramifications of this type of explosion of contacts is well documented. The fact that they during the time of diagnosis of a life threatening disease such as Prostate cancer in such a dramatic manner emphasizes the genuine impact of cosmobiological observations when experienced in real life.

Natal SU/NE = transiting JU, "weakness, illness....[again!] water concentrations. Also natal SU/NE = transiting CH/NE. According to Chris Brooks study on the midpoint structures of Chiron, that midpoint almost never can be considered in any way a favorable omen and contacting the natal SU/NE one might imagine an image of an overflow of tears caused by tragedy.

Natal MO/PL = Solar Arc Chiron. The biological correspondence for MO/PL includes "glandular secretions." Remember, prostate is a gland. Chiron is often thought to play the role of a healer and may appear when the need for healing is at hand.

Natal Mercury, although not associated with prostate cancer, is part of some challenging directed and transiting contacts. It receives Solar Arc NE/PL, associated with cancer and the Hidden stages of disease. This does indicate a state of mind being affected by illness. Also, many believe illnesses like cancer have psychological origin. This solar arc, along with natal Mercury is transited by both Pluto and the Sun! Again , we have the cosmobiological cancer complex of Sun, Pluto and Neptune. Natal Mercy itself =SU/MO, the balance of fluids in the body. Transiting Pluto=SU/MO: A soul torn by inner conflict...changed life circumstances lead to critical phases of development in life or to separation from others."

Natal Pluto = Solar Arc Uranus, "changes in the rhythm of biological processes." (The conjunction became exact on December 5, 2003.)This potentially violent contact may also beckon explosions of creativity, which in the case of a gifted artist like Deniro may indicate some powerful creative expression of the Native’s pain. Solar arc Uranus also = natal SU/SA: the development of inhibitions due to illness; DR/NE, the breakdown of a relationship; and SU/MD, violent attainment, tragic destiny. Also, we have transiting midpoint to consider. Natal Pluto = (t) SU/NE: affliction through emotional or physical suffering...[also] a tragic deception of delusion." The theme of deception and misdiagnosis does occur elsewhere (Solar Arc Uranus = (t) ME/NE, sudden misguidance, and Natal Jupiter transited by Neptune), causing suspicion about the full accuracy of the diagnosis. New reports indicated the Deniro’s malignancy was caught early and was fully treatable, this is an extremely severe composition of cosmic factors, and the near future has many more serious challenges. Perhaps the full impact of the malignancy has been underestimated or the native is not being told the full story, which made include other complications such as cancer spreading through the lymphatic system (remember we have lots of indicator of bad or poison fluids.) Solar Arc Uranus = (t) SU/NE: "A sudden emerging weakness or illness, an inner or emotional crisis, mourning."

Natal Saturn, as mentioned is part of a death axis explosion, contacting both (SA) and (T) MA/SA, along with natal MA/SA=(sa) MA. Deniro needs to exhibit care about treatment decisions since natal Saturn is challenged by transiting MA/MC (inability to make decisions.) His natal Saturn is somewhat morose, being = ME/NE: dark thoughts...morbidity and = JU/PL: "inhibitions in development." Note it is the author’s opinion that JU/PL may be descriptive of prostate cancer. Such a strong challenge by MA/SA sustains this diagnosis to my thinking.

If indeed Jupiter plays a role in Deniro’s cancer, there should be cosmobiological evidence to sustain this, and there is plenty! Jupiter = (sa) MO/UR. Prostate disease is one of the biological correspondence for MO/UR! Although its contact with Jupiter should be favorable, one cannot overlook the possible cancer indication of Jupiter. Plus the are both transited by Neptune, long regarded as part of cancer cosmic complexes. NE=MO/UR: lack of energy, weakness...Nervousness, exhaustion. – A sudden disappointment. Also, Jupiter(sa) PL/AS. Again, this contact is usually construed favorably, but the biological correspondence of PL/AS is " a physical change or transformation, the commencing phase of a disease, convalescence." When NE=PL/AS, the result is "a most awkward and unfortunate situation." Natal midpoints for Jupiter include MC/SA, changing fortunes. (Remember also that MC and SA are two thirds of one of the long acknowledged cancer complexes.)

Natal Midheaven is sesquiquadrate Jupiter and shares midpoints. Neptune transiting Midheaven brings inevitable confusion and a susceptibility to depression. The aforementioned solar arc midpoints, PL/AS and MO/UR both deal with attainment of power. Certainly, being faced with a life threatening illness may cause a native to seek enhanced control over his life circumstances.

Natal NE/MC= Solar Arc Moon is another indicator of delusion, "A misinterpretation of observations," another reason for the native to be cautious in his treatment decisions. (Both are transited by JU/SA, which has the biological correspondence of a chronic disease.) This is supported by transiting PL/MC to natal DR. DR= PL/MC points to a desire for control. The biological correspondence of PL/MC is: The desire to recuperate or to regain one’s health. – The decision to undergo an operation. – A change of therapy."

Many challenges seem to lie ahead for the native. Solar Arc Saturn will be exactly conjunct Deniro’s natal sun in June 2004. This is an age old indicator of the possibility of death. (Likewise, it could also indicate a rebirth like the Death Card in Tarot does.) Leading up to that point are a number of other problematic cosmic events. These include the Solar arc Mars exactly = MA/SA on 2/9/04. Transiting Chiron = Radical Chiron on Christmas Eve. This can provide the native a means for a healing journey. (T) UR=AS on 01/18/04. Hopefully this will be a revolution for the better, but in these types of circumstance can represent a further challenge. (T) NE = SA/NE on 01/17/04 (See discussion with natal Jupiter). SA/NE has a well documented relationship to cancer, chronic illness and suffering. It is located at 12 degree 17 minute Leo, Deniro’s natal sun sign. Transiting Jupiter conjuncts NE/CH on 2/11. Since Jupiter seems to play a role in Deniro’s cancer (and NE/CH has a hazardous reputation at best) this again may represent challenge by the malady. Uranus opposes Chiron on 2/22. This is a two edged sword. There is a potential to realize healing. However, UR opposing CH is a configuration one often encounters in cases of HIV infection. Chemotherapy often depletes the immune system. This transit should be viewed with caution. Chiron itself transits the death axis of MA/SA on 3/23 and Jupiter squares MA/SA on 04/06. Both the Chiron and Jupiter transit to the "death" midpoint repeat in June.

This is not an optimistic forecast for Deniro. The road ahead does seem filled with challenges. Hopefully, he is in contact with a competent cosmobiologist who can thoughtfully advise him of these challenges and examine both medical and spiritual strategies for dealing with the next half a year. Certainly, a detailed chart analysis for the month of June would be prudent. Perhaps a 9^th harmonic work-up may suggest healing methodologies not immediately obvious. It would be a mistake to think that the problems caused by the Prostate cancer diagnosis have been immediately resolved through treatment. I would be particularly sensitive to examining the possibility of there being some spread of the cancer or even another infection to either his lymphatic system or bloodstream.

Also, in closing, I hope that this case provides substantiation for cosmobiologists to consider Jupiter as part of a complex of factors that can indicate the potential, as well as the actual growth of cancer.
